Terms of participation
Bi Fest is an event calendar that strives to be open and inclusive, where everyone is welcome regardless of their gender or sexuality. Therefore, by participating in the events, you agree to the terms of participation indicated below.
- Respect all people, as well as their names, pronouns, and identities. If in doubt, ask respectfully and remember: it is not your place to define others.
- No means NO! Consent is very important! Respect all people and their space. If in doubt, ask respectfully and remember: rejection is part of the process and does not define you or anyone else.
- Taking images during events (photographs and/or videos) is subject to the rules of the venue, authorization from the event organizer/Bi Fest, and the explicit consent of the people being photographed/filmed. Respect each person’s consent!
- Pets are welcome at events, as long as the venue allows them. The venue’s rules and applicable legislation must be respected. If you have any questions, please contact the venue.
- Zero tolerance for harassing behavior, whether physical or verbal. Failure to comply with this term may result in a complaint being filed with the appropriate authorities.
- Zero tolerance for hate speech or behavior, exclusion, or discrimination, including Biphobia, Homophobia, Transphobia, Interphobia, LGBTQIA+phobias, Xenophobia, Racism, Ableism, Ageism, Misogyny, Body shaming (ridicule of another’s body), Slut shaming (disapproval of conduct or moral censure of another), as well as any other behavior aimed at hate speech, exclusion, or discrimination against anyone participating in the events. Failure to comply with this term may result in a complaint being filed with the appropriate authorities.
- Zero tolerance for any form of violence, whether physical, verbal, or psychological. Failure to comply with this term may result in a complaint being filed with the appropriate authorities.
- Respect the Bi Fest organizers, venues staff, event moderators, security staff, and event participants. Failure to comply with this term may result in a complaint being filed with the appropriate authorities.
- Respect the rules and terms of use of the venues where the events are held. Failure to comply with these terms may result in a complaint being filed with the appropriate authorities.
- We have zero tolerance for behavior or situations that aim to interrupt or disrupt the normal functioning of events or venues. These situations will be immediately reported to the appropriate authorities, and a complaint will also be filed with them.
- Any other situations not covered by these terms will be handled in accordance with Portuguese Law and in accordance with the rules and terms of use of the venues where the events are held. Any irregularities may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

If you experience and/or witness any type of harassment, disrespect, discrimination, or any other situation described above: report it as soon as possible to someone from the Bi Fest organization, the event promoter, or an employee of the event space.
Bi Fest organizers are identified with an official Bi Fest card with “Bi Fest” written on a blue background.
Event moderators are identified with an official Bi Fest card with “Bi Fest – Staff” written on a blue background.
Event venue staff have one of two options: specific identification for the venue (uniform, shirt, badge, and/or card) OR an official Bi Fest card with the name of the venue written on a blue background.
