Talk: Accessibility and Ableism in the LGBTQIA+ Community

“Accessibility and Ableism in the LGBTQIA+ Community” is a Talk focused on LGBTQIA+ people with disabilities, deafness and/or neurodiversity. The aim is to discuss accessibility (or the lack of it) in Queer spaces and events, ableism and anti-ableism and the barriers often encountered within the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the myths, prejudices, stigmas and invisibility associated with the experiences of people with disabilities.

Accessibility

The venue is accessible to wheelchair users, without adapted restroom. There is an adapted restroom at Loja de Cidadão (Avenida Dom Sesnando Davides – Google MapsApple Maps) about 150 meters from Pet & Tea. It was not possible to find a fully accessible space in Coimbra, with an adapted restroom, that was also comfortable for LGBTQIA+ people and available to host this event. Please contact the space for more information.

There will be interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language.
